| Map of Rothwell Park The “Magic City Line” in Moberly’s beautiful Rothwell Park begins its eighth year in 2010! | ||
| • | The ride will open in mid-April with an extended ride and new features that will add to the family fun for riders and spectators alike. This amusement ride will operate each Sunday; weather permitting, from 1-5 p.m. through October 31st. | |
| • | Watch for “special” ride dates or you may schedule your own special birthday, family reunion, employee outing, etc. by contacting Moberly Parks and Recreation or a Rothwell Park Railroad volunteer. | |
| • | Groups of 25 or more riders can receive a discount on days other than Sunday. 48-hour notice is required for a special group ride to ensure adequate volunteers to run the trains. | |
| • | New this year is an expanded ride into the wooded area south of the Rothwell Park Engine Shed, traveling over the NS Bridge, several trestles and crossings as it returns into the tunnel north of the station. | |
| • | Also new, will be the improved loop at the James Youth Center end allowing for easier train travel and passenger comfort. Now, passengers can board from platform areas, entering the train on the eastside near the “shanty” station at that location. | |
| • | New cars, improved engines, and tours of the “railroad gardens” and “train sheds” add opportunities for groups and individuals. Be sure to watch for carvings along the train route too. | |
| • | As always, your train crew is completely volunteer run. They will greet you and assist loading and unloading of the trains. Concessions and souvenir sales round out your trip to the miniature train site in Rothwell Park. Ask us about “train-related” items for parties and gatherings. | |
