National Youth Sports Coaches Association
All NEW coaches must complete the National Alliance for Youth Sports Coaches training class. Classes will be held at the Auditorium on April 15th, April 19th, April 28th, May 4th, and May 12th. For more information contact Katie at 269-8705 ext 2012 or katienoyd@cityofmoberly.com.
Returning coaches can turn in their renewal forms or return the Code of Ethics Pledge.
What is Start Smart Sports?
The Start Smart Sports Program is an introductory sports program for kids ages 3-5 years of age and their parents. This program prepares children for organized sports in a fun and non-threatening environment, and teaches parents how to properly nurture their child’s sports development.
Start Smart Sports Development
This program will be offered from January 26th-March 2nd at the Municipal Auditorium. Kids will learn basic sports fundamentals like throwing, catching, and running.
This program will be offered from March 23rd-April 27th at the Municipal Auditorium. Kids will learn basic baseball skills like batting, catching, and throwing.
Ragball League is for boys and girls ages 4-6 years of age (Boys in this program must move to the Optimist league when they turn 6). This league is designed to introduce young players to the ballgame setting and develop skills. Registration deadline is March 31st and games will be played during June and July at the Howard Hils Athletic Complex.
Girls Pitching Machine (8 & Under) League is designed for girls to continue learning the fundamentals of softball with the assistance of a pitching machine. Registration deadline is March 31st and games will be played during June and July at the Howard Hils Athletic Complex.
Girls Live Pitch (10 & Under) League is designed for girls to get their first experience with live pitch softball. Registration deadline is March 31st and games will be played during June and July at the Howard Hils Athletic Complex.
Girls Live Pitch (12 & Under) League is designed for girls to improve their softball skills in our non-competitive league.
Girl’s Competitive Leagues
14U, 16U, and 18U Girls ASA Softball League -Team roster and league fees due by April 10th. Leagues will use NFHS High School Softball Rules.
Liability waiver must be turned in with team roster.
Magic City Classic softball tournament will be held on June 19-20th for 14U & 16U. More information and registration.
Optimist League Baseball

The Optimist Pee-Wee leagues are open to area boys and girls. Contact Merrill Finley at 263-5008 or visit the Optimist website.
Optimist T-ball League is offered for children ages 6 & 7 years old. Registration deadline is March 31st and games will be played during June and July at the Howard Hils Athletic Complex.
Optimist Pitching Machine Baseball League is offered for children ages 8 & 9 years old. Registration deadline is March 31st and games will be played during June and July at the Howard Hils Athletic Complex.
Optimist Live Pitch Baseball League is offered for children ages 11 and under. This is MPRD co-sponsored league. Registration deadline is March 31st and games will be played during June and July at the Howard Hils Athletic Complex.
Moberly Midget League
Moberly Midget League provides competitive baseball for area teams in three divisions: American League (11U), American League (13U), and National League (17U). Registration deadline is April 15th. Limited scholarships available. Contact Rick Andrews 660-651-6839 for more information.
Summer Tennis Classes
Want to sharpen your tennis skills this summer? Classes are available for youth on Tuesdays/Thursdays from June 1st-July 8th. Beginner classes will utilize QuickStart Tennis equipment from the USTA.
