The Building Inspectors issue construction-related permits and perform construction inspections for all new construction and major renovations to existing structures.
New construction inspections include:
Certificate of occupancy inspections (before the building can be occupied foresidency or for commercial use)
Final building inspections
Once installed, all major household appliances such as water heaters and furnaces, whether related to replacement of an existing appliance or installed during new construction, must be inspected by the Building Inspectors.
Residential occupancy inspections must be scheduled and paid for through the water office.
